Pura Jagatnatha or Jagatnatha Temple is the biggest Hindu’s temple in Denpasar city. Located on the east side of the central square of Denpasar – Taman Puputan, just beside the Bali Museum.
Jagatnatha temple is categorized as Kahyangan Temple (very important temple). The name of Jaganatha is taken from special name which is not similar with other familiar temples in Bali taken from the location where the temple is situated such as Besakih Temple, Ulun Danu Batur Temple, Lempuyang Luhur Temple, Luhur Andakasa Temple, Puncak Mangu Temple, etc.
The unique of Jagatnatha Temple does not own the Pengempon (the group of community who manage like the temple). Jagatnatha Temple only owns a few of people who arrange the fund to construct it until every day ceremony. It is handled by Jagatnatha development committee with other Hindu people. In furthermore growth after Jagatnatha Temple has been built, the ceremony execution is handled by committee of Hindu Holy Day (PAHARA HINDU) who is the institutionally personnel which is pursuant to Local Bali Government’s Decree. Those personnel of PAHARA HINDU are generally taken away from local government of Badung Regency and Denpasar town.
